Wallbox – Charging Stations: Efficient Management of Internal Power Supply.
Marco Peretta, Business Development Manager Southern Europe Recom
“Designing existing and planned EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) in a way that allows for the easy integration of various types of power transistors such as IGBT, Silicon, SiC, Cascode, and GaN, even when their gate drive voltages are not the same, is a particular challenge. This is especially true for SiC as each new generation has different maximum and recommended gate drive voltage limits.”
15.30 PM
Room B Volta
The importance of ISO15118 and how NXP Enablement can accelerate the design phase
Mark Swinburn, EV Charging Technical Manager NXP – Powered by Avnet Silica
NXP will provide an introduction to the key advantages and functionality of the ISO 15118 standard and how it will revolutionise the next wave of Electric Vehicle Chargers. Once the requirements are clearly framed, NXP will highlight the customer enablement platforms to simplify and accelerate the design journey

SiC and Si Based Components for EV Charging Circuits
Udo Steinebrunner, product manager, Product Manager Diotec Semiconductor powered by EDO Components
Power semiconductors based on silicon carbide play an important role in the centre stage of electric vehicle charging circuits. But there is still a lot of innovation in traditional silicon components. This presentation informs about the advantages of either technology, and introduces dedicated MOSFETs, Schottky Diodes, High Voltage and Low Power Loss Rectifiers. Get an overview about the right components for input rectification, power conditioning, inverter stage, auxiliary circuits, over-voltage and ESD protection. Diotec Semiconductor is a manufacturer with European headquarters, and four own worldwide located factories. Since 50 years, it offers a deep know-how from wafer and chip production to assembly and test of semiconductor devices.
